"MICROBUSA"

28th February 2009

Made the two upper suspension arms in the same way as the lower except adding an 8mm tie rod to enable some adjustment of the suspension.

For the bushing I used some rubber hose (pinched from the pipe of the camping cooker shhh don’t tell the wife lol) which just happened to be a nice tight push fit into the tube on the suspension arms, then I used some 10mm dia steel tube with a 1mm wall, but wasn’t quite 8mm inside so ran an 8mm drill inside the tube so the m8 bolts would fit through, then pushed the 10mm tube inside the hose it was a very tight fit used a bit of white grease to help it along.

Then I measured and fitted the upper suspension arm mounting brackets and put every thing together. Including the stub axel carriers id made allthough forgot to take pics.

Then I got to work on the round bar that is on the top of the chassis that holds the steering column and forms the shape of the lower part of the dashboard, why the hell did I sell that tube bender I had doh idiot.

After a few minuets of cussing decided id try heating the steel to help bend it. That didn’t really help so just bent it over the arm of the garden chair not fantastic but it worked just hope I can work the body to the right shape.
